I never realized how convenient having internet service at home was until it wasn't there. There seems to be a great conspiricy to interrupt the flow of thoughts from my brain to my blog sites.
Time is a resource that can be stretched and pulled any variety of ways and filled with so many things.
Douglas Kiddlehopper is still getting into all types of adventures and will be coming to a close soon.
With that said, I want to wish you all a great day and remind all of you out there:

My Search for Aluminumus
My search for Aluminumus began years ago.
I had begun a search for this elusive commodity on other occasions, but the serious quest had not been established until after I had met a germane group of country settlers. If there were any folk that could teach me all the things needed to be learned about the art of procuring a carrot of a different class, I knew that these people could give me the answer.
A kindly gentleman, who had often been called Santa by numerous children, headed the family. The man was knowledgeable in many areas and often pointed out things that could be held in reserve for future needs. Therefore, the task of searching for Aluminum-us had began.
For those of you readers who do not have any idea at all what I am referring to, I will attempt to clarify. Aluminum-us or (Aluminum-us Cannus) is a thin metal phenomenon that often hides away under bushes, behind trees, or in the tall grasses. Some of the younger ones that have not learned to avoid capture will remain out in the open and these are the ones that most agents of the conquest are apt to retrieve. I however, prefer to locate and capture the eldest and most wise of the breed. Although the easy prey will also return under my control enabling the payment of the lucrative cash reward.
In certain areas of the United States there is a per subject reward while in other parts of the country the reward is paid by the total mass of the captured cluster. If by chance you happen to be in the per subject area the reward is much more lofty. On the other hand, the group rate is much more fun if you enjoy the sport of search and capture.
There are some things that anyone who wants to be an agent of Confiscation Inc. should know about their subject, as the following schedule will reveal:
Aluminum-us Cannus
Types: Beerus Cannus and Popus Cannus
SIZE: anywhere from 3" to 8"- CAMOUFLAGE: any number of color combinations can be used.
DEFENSE MECHANISMS: Beerus Cannus- this variety often uses a stagnant liquid that will cause you to feel nauseous if you inhale the fumes. SPECIAL CARE: be aware that this creature often employs bees as a secondary defense system. Popus Cannus- Although this particular breed does not use the same stagnant smell as the previous one, the sweet smell can turn pungent if Popus Cannus has been in hiding for quite some time.
Again, the bees are also used as a secondary defense system. Both breeds have an open mouth that will slice your fingers open if you are misfortunate enough to put your digits in the wrong place.
GROUPINGS: the Aluminum-us breeds can often be found grouped together in
bunches of six or more. Or in rare occasions found alone. There may also be hiding in the midst with them the beer-us bottle-us or popus bottle-us. In some parts of the United States there is a reward for the bottle-us breed, but that is not the case in my area. Those may be found in the plastic or glass variety.
HIDING PLACES: these creatures can be found hiding in any number of places behind trees, under cars, ditches, in tall grass on the roadside, in garbage cans, under old tires amongst other unknown locations.
Capture Techniques
The capture of the Aluminum-us breed is not a difficult task to master. As a matter of fact it is so simple to do that even a small child can achieve success with relative ease.
SAFETY GEAR: As with most types of jobs there are certain types of equipment that can be employed to make the job easier and safer. While not mandated by any particular law these are some objects that can be used.
- Safety glasses
- Gloves
- Rubber Boots
- Insect Repellent
- Rubber or plastic apron
TOOLS: The following tools will make the job at hand easier and more productive.
- Long stick with a nail in the end to jab and capture the Aluminum-us breed.
- Grabber - allows the agent to reach and pick up from a greater distance.
- Golf cart - either electric or gas powered, will make it easier on the feet, less walking.
- Automobile - its purpose as the golf cart but has the advantage of a greater range.
- Bucket or bag - something to contain the captured subjects
These are some of the basic ideas and techniques that I have found to be helpful with the search and capture of the often elusive and dangerous breed know as Aluminum-us Cannus.
Have you ever found yourself wanting to become involved in this type of activity? What do you think about doing this as a profession?
Let me know what you thought of this story, good or hey bud try again.
Have you ever found yourself wanting to become involved in this type of activity? What do you think about doing this as a profession?
Let me know what you thought of this story, good or hey bud try again.
I have been thinking
I have been thinking today of all the men and women that have served in the military, in law enforcement and firefighting fields in this country.
This is what I discovered, we have a great nation; because of the great sacrifices that are made by these men and women and their families and many people do not seem to know it or even care. We are in a battle against many foes, terrorism, drugs, and pornography to name a few. (1 Peter 5:8)
The blessings of God are upon our country; do we live each day as a thankful people?
The price of freedom is always high, it is not concerned with race, with gender, or even age. Freedom always comes by a loss of life, heartache, spilled blood,(John 19:34) and pain and suffering.
The sacrifice is necessary for the protection of humanity, for this is a violent world that we live in. It is a world that has elements of good and evil throughout the land. Violence near peace; hate near love; and sanity dwelling alongside insanity.
WE MUST NOT GIVE UP!!!
There is coming a day when God himself will return and those that know Him as Savior will leave this sin cursed world for a more wonderful place.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16) (1 Thessalonians 4:17), (Matthew 24:36, Luke 12:40)
Here is my plea to all of the members of our military, law enforcement and firefighters and any others that place their life on the line for the protection of life and property.
I pray that you are ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ, if not would you consider the words written in the Bible?
Thank you for all that you endure to keep us safe, and may God bless you and your families.
I want to know more

Hidden Bible Books
There are thirty books of the Bible in this paragraph. Can you find them? This is a most remarkable puzzle. It was found by a gentleman in an airplane seat pocket, on a flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu keeping him occupied for hours. He enjoyed it so much, he passed it on to some friends. One friend from Illinois worked on this while fishing from his John boat. Another friend studied it while playing his banjo. Elaine Taylor, a columnist friend, was so intrigued by it she mentioned it in her weekly newspaper column. Another friend judges the job of solving this puzzle so involving, she brews a cup of tea to help her nerves. There will be some names that are really easy to spot, that's a fact. Some people, however, will soon find themselves in a jam, especially since the book names are not necessarily capitalized. Truthfully, from answers we get, we are forced to admit it usually takes a minister or scholar to see some of them at the worst. Research has shown that something in our genes is responsible for the difficulty we have in seeing the books in this paragraph. During a recent fund raising event, which featured this puzzle, the Alpha Delta Phi lemonade booth set a new sales record. The local paper, the Chronicle, surveyed over 200 patrons who reported that this puzzle was one of the most difficult they had ever seen. As Daniel Humana humbly puts it "The books are all right here in plain view hidden from sight." Those able to find all of them will hear great lamentations from those who have to be shown. One revelation that may help is that books like Timothy and Samuel may occur without their numbers. Also, keep in mind, that punctuation and spaces in the middle are normal. A chipper attitude will help you compete really well against those who claim to know the answers. Remember, there is no need for a mad exodus, there really are 30 books of the Bible lurking somewhere in this paragraph waiting to be found. God bless.

Multi Tasking
Multi Tasking - we all do it in some way through our life
Driving - eating - working
No matter where or when in our life there comes a time when we will be called upon to perform more than one task at a time - MULTI TASKING
I would like to take a few minutes tonight to show you an area in our spiritual life that we can do this and it will make a great change in our lives.
1. Memorize God's Word
2. Meditate on God's Word
3. Move upon God's Word
4. Meet with God
MEMORIZE GOD'S WORD
WHY?
1. (Psalms 119:11) Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (KJV)
Every day we all fight a battle against our flesh, whether we are saved or not.
lust, sin, and temptation are all things that we face eah day. If you are not saved, do not know Jesus as Savior then you are simply doing what comes natural.
If you are saved, realized that you are a sinner, there is a penalty for that sin and know that you could not do anything to save yourself, and by faith trusted Jesus to save you; then you now have two natures battling for control; of your life.
The one nature that gets fed the most will be the one that wins the battle for control of your life.
WHY MEMORIZE GOD'S WORD?
TO HELP PREVENT SINNING AGAINST GOD
FOR GUIDANCE IN OUR TIME OF NEED
2. (Psalms 119:105) Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (KJV)
Think of a flashlight pointed at the ground in front of you, it lights the area right near you. The Word of God does the same thing for us, it gives us an answer for our immediate needs.
When the jailer came into the prison cell after the earthquake following the point when Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises unto God, he had been at the point where he was going to kill himself because he thought that in the chaos some of the prisoners had escaped; after discovering that none had, he asked "sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
They replied, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:30-31
In the darkness of the hour, God's Word gave an answer to his immediate need.
Have you seen God's Word as a lamp for your immediate need? Salvation or any other need?
Then the Word of God shines as a light down the path of life, as we follow God after salvation the Word of God gives us guidance along the way.
(Proverbs 3:5-6) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (KJV)
MEDITATE UPON THE WORD OF GOD
Take the scripture verse that you have memorized and think about it; really think about it. Is there a special meaning to you in the verse?
1. In what way does the verse help you out?
2. Is there someone in that passage that you can relate to?
3. What are the consequences if you disobey the Word that you have read?
4. What blessing is in store for you if you choose to obey the scripture?
(Psalms 1:1-2) Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. (KJV)
HOW DO WE DO IT?
You could memorize the verse first then meditate upon it, if it is a short verse then this could work well, but what if it is a longer verse?
Then meditating on it while memorizing it would be a great help, you see we will rermember what we hold important. If we meditate upon the scriptures and think of why they are important to us we will be more likely to memorize them, and won't give up on doing it.
The longest verse in the Bible is Esther 8:9, my daughter had to memorize this verse in school and she still remembers it today and that has been 7 years ago, she said it took a lot of work and prayer to do it.
(Esther 8:9) Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language. (KJV)
To memorize this scripture and find the meaning of it you would need to also look at the surrounding verses to find out what is going on; not only are you memorizing scripture but studying the Bible as well. What started out as a simple memorization exercise has now grown into something more.
Memorizing God's Word and meditating upon it is great; but, knowing it in your head and meditating on it in your heart is only half the task; MULTI TASKING... more than 1 thing at a time
WE MUST ALSO MOVE UPON WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED
(James 1:22) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (KJV)
There may be some of you here tonight that have learned something through the preaching service already tonight; what if the two of us had just been content to keep the things that God has revealed to us through His Word to ourselves and not come to serve you in this place, would you have learned what you did tonight?
What if others had not come to preach God's Word, who would have been helped?
What if the disciples and all those that ever heard what Jesus had preached in His time had kept silent?
Would the world know of Jesus today?
If we keep all that we know to our self will the next generation know about God's wonderful plan of salvation?
(Proverbs 30:1-4) The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal, Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man. I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy. Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? (KJV)
What would happen to a generation that does not know God?
(Proverbs 30:11-14)
There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. (No respect)
There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. (No wisdom of God)
There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. (Prideful)
There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. (KJV) (Violent)
Solomon saw this generation in his time, and as I look around this world I can see the same thing.
It is easy to look at the upcoming generation and say, yes look at them; you see how they are, wicked, ungodly, that is the younger generation.
What about my generation? I see the same thing there also,
When I look into the mirror of God's Word, there are time when I see others in the Bible doing wrong and I want to say; AHA, see look at them,
Do you know what I see if I take the time to look closer? ME
Lastly, while we are memorizing, meditating, moving, in order for this to be affective we must also be meeting with God.
(Psalms 50:15) And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. (KJV)
(Jeremiah 29:12) Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. (KJV)
( Psalm 105:4) Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore. (KJV)
(Jeremiah 29:12) Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. (KJV)
(Acts 17:27) That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: (KJV)
MULTI TASKING
CAN WE DO IT? YES WE CAN
(Philippians 4:13) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (KJV)
WILL WE DO IT? THAT IS OUR CHOICE
WILL YOU DECIDE TO DO IT RIGHT NOW?
HAVE YOU CHOSEN TO TRUST JESUS AS YOU SAVIOR?
TIME IS SHORT,
ACCEPT JESUS or REJECT JESUS

Two blue eyes
Staring intently
out the window
Turning to the left

Small fingers

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Whose woods these are I think I know.His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Remembering
I have been sitting here remembering the past. You know I can recall a time when my sights in life were focused on the future. Where would I go, what would I do with my life and what would happen along the way.
Then it seemed that my focus switched to the here and now, present day life and all of the things that flooded my days battling for my attention; there were many things to consider in that time period.
Then there were the things from my past; some good and some bad. When I take the pictures out and look at them I am reminded of people, places, and events of the past. Pictures are wonderful things to have for they bring back those things that we may not have focused upon for quite some time.
Memories are pictures that our brain has stored for future reference, well my friends it is time to draw some of those memories out of the past and revisit those times of an earlier, less complicated time in my life.
Word Beans from the past
God is still in control. He has not given up the fight and one day the battle will be over and God will rule.
Where will you spend eternity?

Word Beans from the past
- A hole dug in the woods to hide from any imaginable foe, whether monster, 20's gangster, or invading army - could have been alien or human
- Trees with our names carved upon them - next to the initials of our true love
- A tree house or village of tree houses making up our own community
- A time before video games or the internet
- Sledding in the new fallen snow for the whole day and coming home to warm loving parents
- Watching to see if the "castaways" would be rescued, or if Gilligan would mess things up again
- The Coyote never caught the Roadrunner
- Watching the Vietnam war on tv
- Drugs and the free love movement
- There was always crime to be reported, death, violence and sin were all around
God is still in control. He has not given up the fight and one day the battle will be over and God will rule.
(Revelation 1:12-18) And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Something I read on a church sign
HONK IF YOU LOVE JESUS;
TEXT WHILE DRIVING IF YOU WANT TO
MEET HIM TODAY
Our God is a consuming Fire
OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE
(Isaiah 66:15) For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. (KJV)
That must have been something like the children of Israel experienced with the living God; fear mixed with wonder.
a) Moses did not want them to forget - Deut. 4:10-13
(Deuteronomy 4:10-13) Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children. And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness. And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice. And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone. (KJV)
b) God wants us to remember - that is why He has given us the King James Bible (400th anniversary is coming up)
THE FEAR OF THE LORD
a) Modern people do not have a fear of God
b) It is only for the primitive heathen - bowing down to the sun, sacrificing virgins to a volcano
Columbus was stranded in Jamaica and surrounded by unfriendly natives; fearing what they might do he told the chief that if they did not help them their God would blacken out the sun. For a while the chief refused to help, then when a lunar eclipse took place (one that Columbus knew was going to happen) the chief gave in.
In the early 1900's a British explorer tries the same trick on an African chieftain, "If you don't help me, my God will curse you and blacken out the sun." The chieftain replied, "oh you mean the lunar eclipse that is going to take place in two days."
c) Christians are not used to fearing God
d) It's too Old Testament
e) We are under grace, so there is no need to fear God
Sometimes I think we relate the fear of God to punishment; the fear of God is from the word yaw ray - reverence or respect.
Example: I would like my kids and grand-kids to obey me not out of fear of punishment; but out of respect for their paw paw.
If we do not have the fear of God out of respect for God to obey His word, then we will have the fear of God when we suffer chastisement for disobedience.
SHOULD WE FEAR THE LORD?
(Proverbs 1:7) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (KJV)
(Job 28:28) And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. (KJV)
(Psalms 111:10) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (KJV)

DOES GOD REQUIRE US TO FEAR (RESPECT) HIM?
(Deuteronomy 10:20) Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name. (KJV)
(Deuteronomy 6:13) Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
( Deuteronomy 6:24) And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as [it is] at this day.
(Deuteronomy 10:12) And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
THAT IS OLD TESTAMENT, WE ARE UNDER GRACE NOT THE LAW
(Romans 6:14-18) For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. (KJV)
(John 14:7-15) If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. (KJV)
Do we respect those that we love? I loved my mom and dad and I respected them. Did I always agree with them? Did I always obey them? NO
When I was younger not as much, but when I got older, when I matured I did.
For the Christian as they mature, they should have a greater love for God and for Jesus Christ and that would result in willing obedience.
Are we going to do it right all the time? NO
let me close with this verse; (1 John 1:9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV)

By Worthy News North America Service
WASHINGTON, USA (Worthy News)-- A religious liberty group warned Saturday, February 6, that"Anti-Christian hostility is getting increasingly deadly" in the United States after two street preachers were shot and killed by a teenager who apparently opposed their message.
"The increasing demonization of Christians in our culture makes some feel its openseason on Christians," said Gary Cass of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission.
Tite Sufra, 24 (pictured above), and Stephen Ocean (pictures below), 23, were shot and killed late Saturday, January 30, in Boynton Beach in the U.S. Stateof Florida, where they evangelized, after meeting 18-year-old Jeriah Woody, local police said.
"They witnessed to Woody for fifteen minutes when he got a phone call and told the preachershe 'had to go', added the Commission, which closely monitored the case.

Planned Parenthood
Steven Mosher is the President of the Population Research Institute, an
organization dedicated to ending human rights abuses committed in the
name of "family planning," and to ending counter-productive social and
economic paradigms premised on the myth of "overpopulation."
Steven discusses the history of Planned Parenthood beginning with the Birth
Control League back in 1918. He notes how this "league" deliberately
intended to set up birth control clinics in minority neighborhoods populated
by immigrants because the wealthy of the Northeastern U.S. felt that
immigrants were having too many children.
Planned Parenthood has evolved to the point where they are responsible for
about one-quarter of all abortions done in the U.S. About a third of their
total budget comes from federal, state and local tax dollars, all of which has
allowed them to become a billion dollar organization.
Taking tax money from American citizens is bad enough but as Steven
points out, Planned Parenthood also makes us poor by killing off a portion of
the next generation, the generation we're depending upon to keep America
running.

The National Day of Prayer
President Abraham Lincoln’s Proclamation:
WHEREAS, the senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the Supreme Authority and Just Government of Almighty God, in all the affairs of men and of nations, has by a resolution, required the President to designate and set apart a day for National prayer and humiliation:
And whereas, it is the duty of nations as well as of men, to owe their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord:
And, in so much as we know that, by His divine law, nations, like individuals, are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war, which now desolates the land, may be but a punishment inflicted upon us for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole People? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us! It behooves us, then to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.
Now, therefore, in compliance with the request , and fully concurring in the views of the Senate, I do, by this proclamation, designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th day of April, 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting, and prayer. And I do hereby request all the People to abstain on that day from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite, at their several places of public worship and their respective homes, in keeping the day holy to the Lord, and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion.
All this being done, in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the Divine teachings, that the united cry of the Nation will be heard on high, and answered with blessings, no less than the pardon of our national sins, and the restoration of our now divided and suffering country, to its former happy condition of unity and peace.
In witness whereof, I have here unto set my hand, and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.
Done at the city of Washington this thirtieth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the eighty-seventy.

The Gifts of God - Part 2
Part 2 The Gifts of God Spiritual Gifts
Who is responsible for spiritual gifts?
(Isaiah 42:5-8) Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. (KJV)
Why did God give us theses gifts?
(Psalms 68:18) Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them. (KJV)
(Ephesians 4:7-8) But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (KJV)
(John 6:27) Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. (KJV)
How does the LORD dwell among men?
(Luke 11:13) If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (KJV)
(Acts 8:18-20) And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. (KJV)
What are some of these spiritual gifts?
Grace
(Psalms 84:11) For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. (KJV)
(James 4:6) But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. (KJV)
Wisdom
(Proverbs 2:6) For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. (KJV)
(James 1:5) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (KJV)
Repentence
(Acts 11:18) When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. (KJV)
Faith
(Ephesians 2:8-9) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (KJV)
(Philippians 1:29) For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; (KJV)
Eternal Life
(Romans 6:23) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV)
(John 10:28-30) And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one. (KJV)
These are just a few of the gifts that I found, perhaps you may want to check these other references out and see what you discover:
- Romans 5:16,17
- Psalm 68:35
- Ezekiel 11:19
- Psalm 29:11
- Matthew 11:28
- 2 Thessalonians 1:7
- Psalm 84:11
- John 17:22

The Gifts of God Part 1
I had began a study on the gifts of God and here are some of the things that I found out.
1. All blessings are from God
1. All blessings are from God
- (James 1:17) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (KJV)
- (2 Peter 1:3) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (KJV)
- (John 3:26-27) And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. (KJV)
2. God dispenses gifts according to His will
- (Daniel 2:21) And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: (KJV)
- (Romans 12:6) Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; (KJV)
3. The gifts of God are free and abundant
- (Numbers 14:8) If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. (KJV)
- (Romans 8:32) He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (KJV)
- (Romans 4:25) Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. (KJV)

A Place of Solitude
I have been studying he life of David and would like to bring out some things that I have learned.
I Samuel 8-18 KJV
The question comes to mind, how did God come to choose David? The Bible calls David a man after God's own heart, why is that?
Three qualities that were present in the life of David
Do you find yourself in a place of solitude? In an obscure existence? Going through life in a monotonous cycle, all the while being present in this real world?
Look to the creator of life, the Holy and Just One, cast your eyes upon God and bow to Him in prayer for the answers that you seek.
May God bless you today and everyday
I Samuel 8-18 KJV
The question comes to mind, how did God come to choose David? The Bible calls David a man after God's own heart, why is that?
Three qualities that were present in the life of David
- Spirituality- what was important to God was important to David
- a sensitive heart 2 Chronicles 16:9
- when you do something wrong are you willing to admit it
- do you care about your motivations - why you do the things you do
- Humility- a servants heart
- 1 Samuel 16:1
- Psalm 78:70; 89:20
- Remember a servant wants glory for his master
- Integrity- what you are when no one is looking
- Psalm 78:70-72
- through solitude - many hours alone with the sheep
- through obscurity- David was unknown and unseen, when Samuel asked if that were all of Jesses' son's then, he remembered that David was in the field
- through monotony- the everyday menial, routines of the day
- through the reality of the world around him
Do you find yourself in a place of solitude? In an obscure existence? Going through life in a monotonous cycle, all the while being present in this real world?
Look to the creator of life, the Holy and Just One, cast your eyes upon God and bow to Him in prayer for the answers that you seek.

A hot time
Today started out as any normal Saturday for me; I rose up early and prepared for the day of visiting the kids on the church bus route. We had a wonderful time meeting with the kids and their families and then I returned home to spend some time with my grand kids.
Later on in the afternoon they went with their mom and dad to visit away for the evening. It was about 6:30 pm that I decided to put me something on for dinner. I decided on three burritos and some left over mashed potatoes; nothing to difficult to fix and then I could find something else to do with the rest of my quiet evening at home.
I put the pot of oil on the stove to deep fry the burritos and went into the other room to wait for the oil to heat up. I must have dozed off or something because the next thing I heard was a loud bang as if something had exploded. I looked up to see the house filled with smoke and flames shooting into the air from the kitchen.
I ran to the kitchen to get the fire extinguisher and found that it was empty. So here I am standing in front of the stove, the pot on it in full blaze and flames eating away at the cabinets and shelves above the stove. What to do now? I grabbed the nearest towel from the rack and attempted to grab the burning pot from the stove, it took me four grabs into the flames to snatch it up. Upon doing so I threw it out the door and proceeded to wet another towel to beat down the flames that had now attached themselves to my kitchen cabinets and shelving.
In a few moments the fire was put out, the only victims were the glass top stove with all of the fancy electronic controls along with a couple of towels and the foodstuffs that had been on the shelf above the stove. There was some slight smoke damage to the walls, however some cleaning and a new paint job will take care of that.
I incurred some slight burns to my arms and face but not to serious, a little aloe gel on them and they are fine.
For a moment I thought that there were flames all about me, not nearly though. That explosion that I heard turned out to be a can of non-stick spray that had been on the shelf above the stove. It was the thing that God used to warn me that there was a dangerous situation brewing. You see there was no smoke alarm in the house to draw my attention to the impending fire that was about to begin.
Here is the thing though for those that have not put their trust in Jesus Christ to save their soul, there will come a day when the flames of Hell will surround them for all eternity. There will be no fire extinguisher, nor wet towels to put out the flames. The pain and torment that the lost will face will not be soothed by an aloe gel that was kept in the refrigerator.
My friend just as God used that exploding can to warn me that danger was approaching, he has used the Bible to warn mankind that judgement for sin is coming, there will be a place of eternal pain and suffering and that place is called Hell.
Good people as well as bad people will find themselves there if they will not trust Jesus Christ as the savior.
Why is that?
(Matthew 25:41) Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: (KJV)
(Revelation 21:8) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (KJV)
Fear not though because if you are reading this then you have a chance to escape this coming judgement.
(Romans 5:8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (KJV)
(Romans 10:9-10) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (KJV)
(Romans 10:13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (KJV)

Why is that?
- (Romans 3:10) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (KJV)
- (Romans 3:23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (KJV)
- (Romans 6:23) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV)
(Matthew 25:41) Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: (KJV)

The Son of Thun
The Son of Thun
The only thing that was visible from the lower limb of the great oak was the weary form of a man sitting on the edge of the babbling brook. The swirling water coming from the top of Mt. Rene-po swallowed up his feet and cooled the toes on his left foot, the right foot had none for it was just a stub; the unfortunate results of an earlier battle with a varmint trap.
Today was a new day in the life of Case Maximal. He had left behind all of the troubles that surrounded his world and came to the rugged wilderness looking for treasure. The big city held only misery and pain for him and Case longed for the peace and quiet that the country promised.
So here he sat, on the bank of a quiet stream in the middle of the forest. The only sounds that could be heard for miles were the sounds of birds and the wildlife of the area. A doe looked at him from downstream and then ran off into the brush. A rabbit peered at him through the underbrush and then scurried off to complete his to-do list.
Case Maximal leaned forward and took a drink of the cool, clear water of the brook. You just can t find water like this back home he thought, as the icy nectar eased down his parched throat; cooling the fire as it went toward the bottom of his stomach.

Word Beans
I love to eat beans of any kind. Great Northern Beans are my favorite almost as good as a loaf of sliced bread. Jelly beans come in second place, the black ones are my most favorite ones.
I guess that it was my love for beans that gave me the idea for the topic of this blog. Who can forget this famous saying; "The Navy gets the gravy, but the Army gets the beans."
Something better than beans for your belly are beans for your mind, and that is where the "word beans" come into play. One of the results of eating a lot of beans is that they often leave their aroma in the room, and if you read enough "word beans" then they are surely going to come out and others will know what you have been reading.
So then, let's gather around the fire and have some "word beans" for dinner.
Read a good book today!!!
